Club Safety Policies 

Safety is Our Number One Priority. There is nothing more important than the safety of our Club members. We work every day to create a safe, fun environment, so youth can have every opportunity to be successful in life.




Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains values all Club families and wants to maintain the trust that has been built. Therefore as an organization we want to be transparent regarding all our Safety Policies. All safety policies in place that protect youth, including, but not limited to, supervision, transportation, communication and prohibition of private one-on-one contact is outlined below.

  • <>Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

    All Boys & Girls Club employees are required by law (Tennessee 37-1-403) to report having knowledge of or called upon to render aid to any child who is suffering from or has sustained any wound, injury, disability, or physical or mental condition which is of such a nature as to reasonably indicate that it has been caused by brutality, abuse or neglect or which on the basis of available information reasonably appears to have been caused by brutality, abuse or neglect shall report such harm immediately, by telephone or otherwise to one of the following offices.  To read the entire policy please chick HERE 

  • <>Restroom Use

    The restroom use procedure is for Club members, staff and volunteers to ensure safety for all. To read the full policy please click HERE 

  • <>Transportation

    The purpose of the transportation program is to provide safe transportation of Boys & Girls Club members.  The Club adheres to all Tennessee Highway Patrol regulations regarding vehicles, drivers and safety procedures. To read the full policy please click HERE 

  • <>Emergency Lockdown Procedures

    In the event of a potentially threatening situation the staff member in charge will call 911 to make sure law enforcement is aware then make the call via walkie-talkie, intercom, bullhorn, telephone, word of mouth etc. to inform all people on the premises.   • <>Sick Child

    Guidelines Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains will use for identifying exclusion due to illness. Guidlines are taken from the ABC’s of Safe and Healthy Childcare. A Handbook for Child Care Providers by CDC. To read the entire policy please click HERE 

  • <>Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease

    Staff will take extra special precautions when children who are ill are diagnosed at the Club and when children who are mildly ill remain at the Club. To read the entire policy please click HERE 

  • <>Bring Your Own Device Acceptable Use

    The Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains adopts this policy to maintain a safe and secure environment for members, staff, volunteers and others. A personally owned device. Includes all member-owned existing and emerging technologies and devices that can take photographs; play and record audio or video; input text; upload and download content and/or media; and transmit or receive messages or images.   • Member/Parent Grievance Policy
